The story behind the 54 dodge is that my great
grandfather used to work for standard oil co (which is
now chevron) and the truck was a company truck, if you
look on the left door it says so. any way when my dad
was a kid he would ride in it, but his grand father got
a new car and they stopped using it and when my dad was
older he started getting all the cars which were parked
here by his dad (about 15) and he kept the dodge and a
Model A hard top. since when he started restoring it
there was no internet so he couldn't find the parts so
he gave up. My dad told a guy he could have it, so we
pulled it from its sleeping spot, you should have seen
it, the truck was on its axles and we tried to pull it
with the tractor, but it would start to do a wheelie so
we hooked a chain to the tractor with the suburban to
keep it on the ground. The guy that was going to get the
truck never came so it sat for another year. But last year I started liking the truck and
bugged my dad to death asking him questions about it so
he said I could restore it. oh yeah when he started to
fix it his friend was hot Roding his so he gave us his
49 engine so I'm gonna put it in there.
